Aug 3 Northglenn National Night Out
http://www.northglenn.org/p84.html
7-10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3
Each year, neighborhoods in Northglenn are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime and safety programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community relationships and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized against crime.

Northglenn residents are encouraged to spend the evening outdoors with neighbors and members of the Northglenn Police Department. This is an ideal opportunity for citizens and law enforcement to unite in a positive atmosphere and show criminals that there are more of us than there are of them!

National Night Out is also a way for the citizens to get the word out that criminal activity is not welcome in our neighborhoods. Although we celebrate the principles of National Night Out once a year, the philosophy behind it applies all year long. Studies have shown that building positive and lasting relationships among neighbors has proven to help reduce criminal activity and help create a safer environment for children to grow and people to live.

For more information on becoming involved with National Night Out, contact Officer Paul Skattum at pskattum@northglenn.org or 303-450-8851.
